While there are plenty of hotel link building opportunities out there, you know that targeted hotel travel directories you can get into right now. While some of these may cost money, if they’re listed here they are worth the cost of admission. Sometimes there are SEO short cuts, but don’t quite think of it that way when it comes to directories.
Google will definitely be constantly watching the quality of these types of sites. I recommend these because they provide a quality link due to their submission requirements and guidelines. I wouldn’t recommend a low quality link opportunity, so snap all of these links up now if you want.
Hotel-Discount.com is a well know hotel marketing website that combines a hotel directory with a coupon promotion engine. The links are followed so you do get the benefit of some link juice being passed on which is something I like to see. If you use the Firefox SEO Quake tool you can turn it on and see a few aspects of this cool website. You can visit their website and get started on signing up your hotel here;
2) Local Hotel Directory
This is perhaps my favorite and the most visually pleasing hotel directory I have ever seen. Not only is the Local Hotel Directory stocked with thousands of hotels already, the provide a juicy followed link as well. While the site doesn’t provide a whole lot of traffic, I have seen the links showing up in backlink profiles from many of the sites listed on here. I would highly recommend checking to see if your city page is indexed in Google before getting listed here.
This international hotel directory has been around for 5 years now and has survived quite well compared to its competitors. This hotel directory is always on my target list for clients and have no problem recommending this hotel directory to you folks. The only catch to getting listed here is that they pull their data from DMOZ, the “human-powered” directory. Just scroll down to the bottom of your hotel’s city page and you’ll see the submission instructions. It’s a long shot, but submitting yourself to DMOZ will net you a lot more links than just this directory.
The Best Of The Web Directory is riding high and nearing its 15th year in operation. If we know anything about link building, it is that old links from authoritative websites are key. BOTW is toted as the oldest web directory running and does charge for an admission/review. The cost is $299 a year, but if you search cleverly on Google, you’ll be able to find some coupons.
Here’s another domain that’s been around since 1996, and most likely indexed for close to that amount of time. While the directory isn’t the most Google friendly in regards to how many links are on one page. The Travel.org directory is still a great place to be listed. For $70 USD you can have two links in two different categories and reviewed within a short period of time.
